Watchman Monitoring's Contact Menu offers an easy and uniform place for your end users to launch TeamViewer or download your custom TeamViewer if they don't have it on their computer.
The following document uses the identifiers of URL, URI, and Bundle ID to differentiate the item type you should choose. Learn more about the Contact Menu Item Configuration here.
The TeamViewer application can be called a number of ways, however, the Bundle ID method has proven to be the most flexible. When chosing the BundleID, use the one you prefer to connect to in most cases. The Contact Menu has been programmed to fall back to alternate TeamViewer applications in the following order:
- com.teamviewer.TeamViewerQS launches Quickstart, then TeamViewer.app or TeamViewerHost
- com.teamviewer.TeamViewer launches TeamViewer.app, then QuickStart or TeamViewerHost
- com.teamviewer.TeamViewerHost launches TeamViewerHost, then QuickStart or TeamViewer.app
Adding TeamViewer to your Contact Menu
To add Team Viewer to your Contact Menu, add a new Application to your contact menu here:
Add an Application item to your Menu by clicking the Application button.
Give the menu item a Title such as Open TeamViewer or Share Your Screen.
Mac Settings
Select Apple Bundle Identifier from the Launch using drop-down.
For the Bundle Identifier, enter com.teamviewer.TeamViewerQS
Selecting the Offer Download Option will display the link to the download URL provided, if TeamViewer is not located on the computer.
When setting a Download URL, using a link from TeamViewer's Design & Deploy section is recommended. These URLs result in the download of a .zip file, which most browsers will auto-expand. On the second click on the Contact Menu, the application will be launchable by the Monitoring Client (Mac users will be prompted to allow the application at this point.)
Windows Settings
Select Relative Path from the Launch using drop-down.
For the Path relative to, and select %PROGRAMFILES(X86)% — Program Files (Prefer 64-bit).
For the Full Path to Application, enter TeamViewer\TeamViewer.exe
