By default, SoftRAID's alert to: "Mirror volume is missing secondary disk" is disabled. Watchman Monitoring recommends you enable this alert when using SoftRAID to mirror two hard drives, e.g. in a Mac Mini. Unless you are aware that you are rotating members of this raid set, this check box should be enabled.
SoftRAID: Mirror is missing secondary disk

The Monitoring Client will send a one-time alert to the Subscriber if this setting is disabled. Subscribers can choose how missing SoftRAID raid set members should be treated.
From the SoftRAID menu, select Preferences...

Under the Monitor tab, ensure that Mirror volume is missing a disk is checked.
SoftRAID can be used to create an offsite backup by having a third member to a standard mirror. By design, there is always a "missing member."
SoftRAID Lite 5.x lacks command line functionality, and is not supported.
