Installed Monitoring Client agents count toward your subscription regardless of status. This article explores the various installed agent status that affects your subscription tally.
Active Monitoring Client
Active is the most common status for a Monitoring Client installed. Active Monitoring Client includes Mac, Windows, Linux, and all virtual environments (VMs) even if they exist on the same computer. (e.g. a Windows VM in VMware on a macOS computer.)
Active Monitoring Clients count toward your total client tally for your subscription.
Archived Monitoring Client
Archived Computers are excluded from the Daily Missing Report and are not displayed in lists. Archived Monitoring Client agents become active the next time they check-in with the monitoring server. Upon next check-in, the Monitoring Client moves to an Active Monitoring Client status.
Archived Monitoring Clients do not count toward your total client tally for your subscription.
Missing Monitoring Client
Missing Computers are Monitoring Client agents that have not been updated or checked in as expected within a given period. By default, Monitoring Client agents are considered missing after seven days.
Missing Monitoring Clients do count toward your total client tally for your subscription.
Archive missing computers to exclude them from the Daily Missing Report. An alert will be sent automatically when the Monitoring Client agent comes back on line.
Removed/Uninstalled Monitoring Client
Removing the Monitoring Client without deleting the computer record continues to count toward your total client tally for your subscription.
Delete or Archive non-active computer records to reduce your subscription tally.
