If you have lost or changing the device you use for Two-factor Authentication you will need to disable Two-factor Authentication, and then reenable Two-factor Authentication.
Watchman Monitoring uses a time-based one-time password (TOTP). The following steps will help you configure a new device for use as a second factor in Watchman Monitoring Two-factor Authentication.
Administrators can reset Two-factor Authentication for a user.
Disable the Existing Two-factor Authentication.
When you first enabled Two-factor Authentication on your account, you were prompted to store an Emergency Recovery Code. This code will be required to complete the following. If you do not have your recovery code, please contact support.
Log into Watchman Monitoring with your email and password.
Click the Use a recovery code link on the Two-factor Authentication Token dialog.
Enter your recovery code that you previously saved in a secure location.
From the Account menu in the upper right corner of the Server Dashboard, select Settings.
Select the Password tab, click on Disable Two-factor Authentication.
Confirm disabling Two-factor Authentication by clicking on Disable Two-factor.
Enable Two-factor Authentication On Your Account
To configure Two-factor Authentication on your account, navigate to https://app.monitoringclient.com/settings/profile/password or
From the Account menu in the upper right corner of the Server Dashboard, select Settings.
Select the Password tab, click on Enable Two-factor Authentication.
If Two-factor Authentication is required company wide, you will see a dialog as above, and you will not be able to navigate away from this area until you have enabled Two-factor Authentication for your account.
This page will display both a QR code and text code for use when setting up Authy or your TOTP-compatible app.
