The Group Description can be quickly edited from the Group Overview. See how you can edit the Group Description, where it is used in Watchman Monitoring, and how you can utilize this feature.
Group Description Display
The Group Description is not only displayed on the Group Overview, but is also displayed on Tickets, and the Group Status Report PDF.
Ticket
The Group Description is reported in all tickets generated by the computer. Information in the Description can be used for sorting within your ticketing system. Learn more about Configuring email alerts for ticketing systems.

Group Status Report PDF
The Group Description is displayed on the Group Status Report PDF. Learn more about Group Status Reports.
Editing the Group Description
The Description Field can be used for:
- Customer Contact Information
- Site Details
- Additional data to help sort emails in ticketing systems such as Autotask, Connectwise, or Web HelpDesk
- Anything else you would like to see in tickets
Watchman Monitoring discourages the storage of passwords descriptions or Notes.
When viewing a Group Overview, under the Group Name is the Group Description. The Group Description defaults to Group created on... for an installed client groups or Group created via Enrollment Code for Enrollment Codes.
Edit the Group Description by clicking the pencil icon, or in the Edit tab > Description.
This will expand the Description into an editable area, where you can add in your Description Detail.
Click the green ✓ (checkmark) to save your changes. (Clicking the X will cancel the change.)

Edit
The Group Description can also be edited from the Edit tab of the Group Overview.
Save Changes
Click Save Changes to save any settings changes made to the Group Record. Navigating away from the page will also confirm leaving the page, if settings changes have not been saved.
