About the Disk I/O Error plugin

The Disk I/O plugin reports on logged errors which happen when a drive cannot be reliably read-from or written-to. This is valuable data, even if there is no related SMART Error.

In almost every case, a drive reporting disk i/o errors should be replaced.

Exceptions would include errors on removable media, such as a thumb drive or dvd, or if there is any question as to which volume suffered the error.

Watchman Monitoring strives to filter out such false-positives, and if there is any question as to a warning sent by Watchman Monitoring, we encourage you to reach out to support.
